Maybe it makes it harder to spot if it's on the ground in some locations.

I can see close to front line scattered locations using roads as runways and trees as cover, but I don't know if the combination of prepared roads and the landing gear are up to the task.

It was flyover USAFA, in MIG29!

Weird. Today I heard this loud sound coming, went out quickly, and saw 4 of what looked like F-35 flying wingtip overhead. No MiG though.
This was Saturday. I think refueling stop, since all 4 can stay in the air same amount of time 😂
F35’s were doing senior day flyover on Sunday.

Not sure what would have been going on in the Bay Area yesterday. Cal's Senior Day isn't until next week and this was on a Sunday anyway. Couldn't have been Stanford either since their Senior Day was last Saturday. I was thinking maybe the 49ers game, but it was way too early for that and I was maybe 40 miles away.

I did some digging around. Reddit for what it's worth, but I won't post the link because some of the words used might not be appropriate here. Turns out it was for a funeral of a former flight instructor. Claimed to be 4 F-35A from Nellis flying in missing man formation. Can't find a name though.

Could be. I thought senior day was yesterday. I confused dates as I know they are scheduled to fly.
As for MIG29, I think they were on route from somewhere as MIG had to make a stop in Greely too for refueling.

I've seen my fair share of stadium flyovers in the Bay Area over the years. I used to be a Cal football season ticket holder, and I specifically remember a flyover by two Super Hornets. They were very specific that one of the pilots was a Cal grad.

I do remember when Air Force came to play football at Cal. I don't believe there was any flyover, and just sending a C-17 from Travis AFB would have been pretty boring. However, I did see a few generals walking by. I don't think they had to be in uniform, but I guess that was their equivalent of wearing a sweatshirt.

Those F-22's and the Mig-29 were a flyover for a funeral procession - Air Force style, to honor the passing of a former Air Force fighter pilot/Colonel.

I know that this past week there was a flyover for retired military Colonel Gail Peck who died recently. He was one of the leaders of the "Constant Peg " program that was located at NTTR around the corner from the F-177A hangars. He worked with the adversarial support testing Migs for the 4477th test squadron. There were migs and F-22's.
Flyover for retired Military Pilot

Any ex military fighter jet is more or less a Billionaire toy. One of the Airport advisory board members that I meet with has an L-39 jet and does training for pilots. He said the buying it is tge cheap part.

L39, ex-YU J21/22 are easier. L39 is Czech product, so parts are a OK. J21/22 have mostly Western parts and RR engine. But MIG’s are probably now really expensive to run. Even air forces are struggling for parts now.
