F-35A Crashes at Eielson Air Force Base, Pilot Ejects Safely

Is there info on what happened? I saw the video, and that was one out of control plane!

It just dropped straight down, so I’d guess total loss of engine thrust. But I’m sure the investigation will determine the root cause. Fortunately the pilot survived.

I’m kind of wondering who released the video. Looks like cell phone video. Hope it wasn’t leaked.

Not even the CO of base is authorized to release any video(s) of crash.

It’s OK if civilian filmed the crash from far away and posted on the internet.

The video was clearly taken on the base and you can see people in uniform, ground military vehicles, transport planes, etc. So apparently whoever it was should be easy enough to determine. I found some indications that personal mobile devices aren't allowed on the flight-line.

And yet you have sailors recording videos off of an air craft carrier flight deck right onto a Chinese app. There are what appear to be personal videos recorded all over TikTok. I thought there would be more restrictions!

There's ATC audio. Not sure what the source is since I've only heard it in other videos. But there was a press conference yesterday. Apparently well before the flight-line video was posted.

Here's a slightly longer video from YTuber Juan Browne:

Video was shot from the flight deck of a KC-135 Tanker on the flightline, according to Juan.

Find out who this person is and immediately kick them out of Navy / Marines.

Where is the professionalism to keep things out of social media ?

Much different than when you see Hornet at an air show.
