I watched it make its final approach into LAX yesterday, that was quite a sight, the end of an era.

What I can never get over is that the 747 is even bigger than the shuttle and I know the shuttle is huge! Is there a plane which is even bigger than 747?

In the civilian world, the Airbus A380 is a bit larger.

Yes, there are a few, most notably the big Russian monster the Antonov 225.

I know I saw the shuttle riding on its 747 land at Warner Robins GA about 8 yrs ago when they had to divert due to weather in Florida. A very impressive sight.
