True, but it can't hurt to eliminate what you can

I don't want to add any length or flow restriction. This is why I don't care for the 'screw between' magnets, or the insert into filter magnets.

For online magnets work well enough.

I have seen a few particle counts posted on this forum and am very impressed with the filtering ability of Pure 1's and the Amsoil EaO line of products. I am skeptical that a magnet would catch anything that a good filter would not. I would be more inclined to use one that wraps around the filter if they were less expensive but I can not see spending $50 when that same amount will buy me 10 Pure Ones. Just my 2 cents worth.

If you want a good oil filter magnet try filtermag.com.I,m from Alberta and I ordered one from Ontario had it in 5 days.
I had a filtromax and somehow it fell off,not that magnetic.

I agree! I said the exact same thing yesterday to a friend of mine who I showed how to change the oil in his 98 Integra. He asked if those filter magnets did anything and I said no. The media of the oil filter is going to trap all the harmful stuff anyhow.

Even with the top filters, when I used a magnetic drain plug, I cleaned metal off the magnet each oil change. true, anecdotal, but it is my anecdotal!
I never saw the point of any magnet over $5, when you can use old speaker coil magnets, disk drive magnets, all of which are stronger than the $50 units I have seen.

The idea is to grab the sub 20micron Fe particles... and I just ordered a filtermag
