Double run of ARX in Saab Turbo. Clean-rinse, clean-rinse.

DSCN5155.jpg

Just thought I'd repost for reference.

Not my pic. I kept the pic, because a lot of Audi guys drive turbos and can get a look at the "turbo turds" that came out. I lost track of the original post though, that's why I reposted it. The interesting thing is that the progression is from left to right. It is good work because the OP saved all the filter media to compare.

You know the old saying, " A picture is worth a thousand words". This picture is probably worth 2000 words.

This is the kind of thing that needs to be used to sell the product. A focused picture of properly dissected filter media with a full explanation. It needs no defense; it defends itself.

I just cannot get over how fantastic that photo is, and greenaccordO2 said it perfectly. Audie Junkie for president and greenaccordO2 for vice president.

Looks great! I am on my first clean + rinse, about to start the next clean + rinse in a week or two. Saved my filters, haven't braved cutting them open yet but the Dremel is willing :)

Filter elements seem to be progressively dirtier from left to right. It would be interesting to look at the next few filters after the last rinse cycle.

I would think the filter would get fuller over the first treatment and less later, but I am 90% shure that it goes left to right.

my smaples went from the left picture directly to the right picture-nothing in between. Then the last filter looked like the first one on the left.
Didn't do any special procedure for the AutoRx--ran 5K intervals for clean, rinse, rinse. Castrol 5-20 Bosch filters on an 05 accord with 87K
used castrol since new with 5K changes

Are those my pics? I can't tell since I'm at work and a lot of pic sites are blocked. But if they aren't, I took some very detailed pics of my saab turbo experiences w/ arx that are on here somewhere.

Okay, it looks like those are my pics! Cool!

I found the originals on my computer and saw they have the same "DSCN" number. You must have posted the pics I took of filter media hanging in my shop on my dolly (sp?.

For reference, that filter on the left is a Fram Extended Guard, their really nice beefy filter. The middle two are Supertechs and I believe the one on the end is a Purolator PureOne.

I'll dig up the thread. It's from March or April of 2006.

BrianWC ,

You are the only one who lets the filters completly dry and then do the photos.IMO this is the only way to view what the filter has in it.

Argh, seems my memory is going bad. According to my original thread, the second filter is a PureOne, the third is a PurePlus, and the fourth is a Supertech.

Here's the original thread:

And, here's where, after trying other products after this without anymore success, I tried the maintenance dose. Frank put it up on his site!

Take a look at the filter from just the maintenance dose! And this was after trying flushes, Redline, Neutra, and the like with NO crud deposited in the pleats in the period since I had run the original clean/rinse.

Yeah, that actually stemmed from some my early skepticism of the product! People would post these grainy pics of cut open filters and it just looked like OIL in them to me. So I thought to myself, "Hmmmm, I'm gonna prove to them that's just oil and there isn't much there!"

Seems I was wrong!!

That's why I put so much stock in the stuff!

Sorry to make so many posts, but just to add some background, the car had 59k miles on it when I bought it about a month or so before I started that first arx treatment. Would you believe I have 145,016 miles on the car right now? Yep. 85,000 trouble-free miles since that first time I arx'd the 9-5!
