Filter and OCI interval on 2010 ford fusion?

So moms car is coming up on a oil change. Its a 2010 Ford Fusion 2.5L I4 FWD 99k. car is short tripped 5 days a week 4 miles each way. Idles for 5 mins in the winter then driven 4 miles then shut off 2 and from work. Basically its a yearly oil change with about 7.5k a yr.

Pulled the valve cover last OC and it was spotless. Has an OLM based of 7,500 miles intervals. Last OC i used Pennzoil Platinum 0w20 and a fram ultra. (5.3Q sump) I got a jug of Mobil 1 Advanced Fuel Economy 0W20 tht needs 2 b used. Was trying to see if i could used the fram ultra again or get a tough guard oil filter. Also stick with the 20 weight?

Hard to improve much compared to what you're currently doing. Yep use the Ultra twice is my vote. I'd even use the TG twice. I'd stick with the 20 weight. How about changing the pcv valve on it? If it's easily accessible.

What weight does the owners manual call for?

With such a short driving distance a i'd use Mobil 1 0w20 or 0w30, does the engine get up to temp before itäs shut down? try to get it warmed up and properly hot every now and then and don't be scared to floor it.

Keep the ultra on it for another OCI. Sounds like you have the right combo for that car.

Only thing it requires is a 5w20 conventional oil.

Technically, Ford recommends Motorcraft 5w20 which is a semi-synthetic oil.

Having said that, I own a 2010 Fusion with the 2.5 engine, which is currently sitting at about 219,500 miles.. and I've run anything from straight conventional to full synthetic in it, at a 7,500 mile OCI and I don't really notice that much of a difference.

I've even run mixed that included some 5w30 and 10w40 in with the 5w20. Only real difference there is a negligible MPG change, but even that is up for debate.

Since you're short tripping it and get about 7,500 miles a year, then I'd say just go with a decent semi-synthetic and decent filter, and change once a year. In my opinion, Pennzoil Conventional or Motorcraft would be great options for this.
