Filter advice please!

I have used several oil filters, but wondering which will suit different applications. The Stratus V6 seems to be sensitive to low flowing oil filters (valve train chatter, ticking, oil light on at hot idle, etc). This has only happened with Fram and a Pure One after 2000 miles. Readily available are Super Tech, WIX, Napa Silver wix, Motorcraft, Purolator, the Advance Auto purolator and K&N. Which will filter the best? Which will flow the best? For a travel through the dessert at high speeds, is there a recommendation for best flow at sustained higher rpm's? The Purolator filters seem to give good results, but any good advice for driving conditions? I think the K&N flows very well, but does it compromise filtering? Thank you for the help!

Looks like the Purolator flows the best for the price and it filters better than the K&N. That would be and is my choice.

I would have to say that an oil light at hot idle is related to engine condition or choice of oil rather than filter. What oil are you using?

After using Motorcraft and Amsoil oil filters, I found an 8-micron filter from Canton Racing Products, expensive, but only requires changing the filter media every 10,000 miles, also expensive, but worth it to me to get 8-micron filtering without installing a bypass system, which is difficult due to finding a suitable location to install it without long oil lines to the engine.

Thank you for the help! The oil was valvoline maxlife 5w30, last August in a Stratus I had. It may have been related to the oil pressure sending unit of the filter being for a Ford Explorer, but it fit on the Stratus. It was only that time I noticed the problem. I haven't tried it again. Does that seem like it could have been an issue? The filter made the car take an extra 1/2-3/4 qt of oil, so at the time I was interested. Well, for the flow rate and filtering, I will stick with the Purolator for $2.88, or the Advance Auto Ultra Grip (Purolator) for $2.48. Sound like a good idea?

Are you sure the Ultra Grip is a US Purolator product? I thought someone had posted other information about it.

Personally I think that the Motorcraft filters are a good filter at an excellent price if they are readiily available for your application.
