I had a password protected Word document on a flash drive which I opened from the flash drive. I went to close Word and it asked if I wanted to save it and I clicked yes. Then it said it could not save for some reason. Which was fine because I didn't make many changes this time. So I closed Word. NOW... the file is completely missing from the flash drive and there is only a .tmp file which says access denied any time I try to copy or open it! I really need this file! how did that happen? Any help is greatly appreciated.
Download and Install the following free program in Windows on your hard drive. It will create a desktop icon. Mount your USB Thumb drive and recover the file. Link To Web Site
Don't write anything to your Thumb Drive until you recover your file.
