For a long time we have used fences in this country to separate land boundaries and keep piece with our neighbors, well, that's just my opinion. If it will work on a national basis why not international?

I wish there was a heavy, guarded fence by my neighbor to the south (who incidentally lives close to Mr. JavaMan), though I am not entirely sure how well it would work.

They could put a big fence around Camden, NJ, and lots of folks would be happy. its likely not PC, though...

A properly built and maintained fence that is adequately patrolled WILL work on an international border (such as, dare I say it, the U.S./Mexican border). The problem is that the political will do build and pay for it is not there. Each party wants the illegal immigration, because it furthers the agenda of each party. What the majority of the American people want doesn't matter to either party.

I fully agree that one has the right to leave their country.

I do not agree, however, that one has the right to enter any country they choose.

Awwww shucks.... I'm feeling "correct" today.

Let the whole world waltz in!!!!

Let's get a couple billion or more sould here, the more diverse the better!!!!

Let's overwhelm the ecosystem!!!! Who needs groundwater? Lets expand our energy needs a hundredfold!!!!

Root up those pesky forests. Turn the rivers into concrete channels.

Let's assuage "white guilt" and lower the common Americans living standard to that of the 2nd-world or lower!!!!

Of course, the "system" will ensure the elite class will live quite comfortably as the masses wallow in the mire of economic serfdom.

I have a hard time believing a fence will work, heck, maybe it will - but a lot of those folks are just flat out determined, if they will cross hundreds of miles of dry desert on foot I don't think even an electrified fence will stop them - maybe I'm wrong.

A border fence will turn a river into a trickle. I'm not sure what fool proposed and our genius leaders approved a fence on only one third of the border rather than all of it.

That's not a fence. That's a funnel.
