Females and time

I thought this would go good in the humor section. Is it just me or are all females unable to tell time?

We had some of my wife's family in town. I got tasked with taking them to the airport.

I told them all,5 female adults,1 female toddler and 1 male infant that we had to be on the road, moving by 6:33a.

I also asked if both cars were ready to go. Gas? No low tire light, cleaned out etc.

I was told yes

I got up@5a. Showerd. Ate,let the dog out etc .

6:25 I got into the Nissan to start loading people..The low gas light is on! Somethin I did not anticipate as I asked about that already.

Got into the FJ and it's full of plants in pots!

Had to clean all that out.

6:33a. No girls!

The girls did not start to load into the cars until 7:03a! Fully loaded @7:26! And we still had to stop for gas.

Fortunately the flight was late to leave or they would have all missed it.

Anyone else?

Low or no gas - that cant be. According to every anti EV person no car they have is ever low on fuel.

Fuel is only 5 minutes, and every car they own is always ready to go.

No one ever makes a dedicated trip to fuel.

Every gas stop is on the way where they are going, or home, and they always have that 5 minutes available to fuel it.

I can't charge an EV or PHEV at home (can't run a cord over the sidewalk, 1000 euro fine and can't guarantee parking in front of the house anyway), so that advantage is non-existent for me. Public charging points are ridiculously expensive, getting gas works out to be 60% of the cost of charging an EV + the car was cheaper than one with a plug. So there's that. And the car is parked right in front of the house today, the nearest charger is 1/4 mile away. I do get gas as I go..... every other week or so

All those gas stations, one on every corner, and only 5 minutes of time and effort - yet the household yanked the OP's shorts down right when it was the most important time.

EV's aren't a one size fits all. The point I'm making (or should say trying to make ) isn't that EV are a be all end all.

It's to get real around the subject of fueling, as it relates to trips, and being a weekly or in your case biweekly chore.

It doesn't just magically happen without time effort and expense, and in the case of the OP - it can become an intrusive event that everyone passes the buck on leaving the next household member to cover everyone else.

In your case it's a good thing the ICE works well for you because you seemingly have no choice anyway.

yes, I'm the only driver of our car, so it's my fault if I haven't got gas in it....

With my wife, it's not that she's unable to leave the house on time, because she believes she does. It's that she thinks that every destination is only five minutes away.
I can relate!
If I have an appt at 6.30, I leave the house at 6.15 to allow time to get there. She, on the other hand, leaves the house at 6.30. 🥺
