so in my 98 Saturn sl2 5sp I average 29-31 mpg was wondering what others are getting for fuel mileage . I've heard people aay they get around 40 mpg and i dont see how. So post your numbers

96 Saturn SL-2 with automatic - around 25mpg - combo of city/hwy with A/C running most of the time.
My sons sc1 manual trans gets 42 highway.
Mines a 5sp manual.

My old 94 SL1 with the automatic only got IIRC about 26 mpg on one tank. Something wasn't right with that car.
my Saturn gets worse mileage than my Mustang. It's HORRIBLE.
My 08 Astra XR 3 door 5-spd manual would get 32 in the summer and drop down to around 27 in the winter. This was my 40mi/day 70% Hwy / 30% cty commute.
I have a 99 SL2 with 184,000 and I get about 26 city, a little over 32 highway. You should add in this question how many miles between quarts of oil-if I am lucky, I can go over 600 miles before having to add a quart of oil-if I do a lot of idling, it can be worse (valve seals). At this stage of it's life, it is a commuter car, can park in anywhere in the city and no one pays it any mind at all. Plastic sides mean no dings/dents, therefore it looks pretty nice for a 13 year old car. It still runs great, and has a good heater/ac, comfortable. It has ABS and traction control (actually works), and is really easy to work on.
