FEDERATED PG 2500 CUT OPEN

Good evening folks

Off of a friends 2009 Chevy Tahoe 5.3 v8 4x4 SUV. Vehicle has almost 96k on it as he has a newish or 2016 Suburban he drives more. Oil was Mobil Super HM 10w30, I put a federated filter he supplied that crosses to PH 48 and some Mobil Super 5w30 he got at Rural King for $11.99. I believe total miles on oil and filter was 2,3xx

Yeah these PG filters are stout... 96% at 25 microns is fairly solid for their entry level filter.

Friend got filter at mom and pop parts store and they sell federated filters. About all I know.

Why can't Purolator crimp the paper without a large gap the way this filter is made ?

Ugh ... 2300 miles on oil and filter. What a waste ... I realize it's the customer's choice, but that's just difficult to read about.

30 years ago I was doing 3K Mobil 1 oil and Motorcraft filter changes on my 5.0 Mustang

I was not aware of what I know today.
