This was taken off of my friends f150 v6 7.5k using napa 5w20 blue bottle filter is identical to hastings or baldwin inside and same amount of media

Cool way to do louvers ... different than most. Zoomed in shot of photo above.

Yup! Hastings actually knows how to make a slotted center tube.

These old Federated filters were made by Hastings, but they weren't the same as Hastings-brand premium filters. The Federated filters were the cheaper Casite line.

Too bad the new Federated filters are Chinese now. (Hastings didn't feel like making private label filters anymore)

So you're saying that Hastings/Baldwin told Federated AP they were done making Federated labeled filters for them? Don't think I've heard of a company 'arbitrarily' turning down a contract to make a product for someone they've been doing business with for some time.

Now if it was because they couldn't reach agreement with Federated AP on a contract price as has been seen with O'R MicroGard and CQ filters, that would be understandable.

Do you have link or source to that information? Be interested in reading about it.

AirgunSavant mentioned it earlier this year in this thread

Interesting. I also read what long time member Hootbro said in reply. And the "most companies" mentioned doesn't include competing filter makers Rank/Fram&Champ nor M&H Puro or recently purchased Wix. Afaik Baldwin filters are still selling at retail, at least according to member postings. And they have the same parent company as Hastings, Clarcor. Just dumping the Federated contract seems odd 'to me'.

Whatever the case, Federated AP has a new filter supplier.
