I didn't know Febi Bilstein made oil filters but it seems they do.
Generally a well trusted company, but i don't find much in terms of reviews of their oil filters.
Anybody used them?

Not a well trusted company on my list, sketchy stuff for the most part right in there with Meyle, Flennor, Uro and the rest. I wouldn't bother with it.

back in my days on the Mercedes forums they were not well regarded. I ordered some motor mounts and they werent very good but I paid something like $13 for them. Never used any oil filters though.

No, honestly they are for the most part garbage parts. That being said its I suppose its possible like some Dorman oil and trans pans there may be a sleeper or two in there but I haven't seen it.

I honestly use Febi/Bilstein parts at least once or twice a week at the minimum, most times made in Turkey or Spain. No real issues that I can note. I have seen Febi China, but so far only on relays, and the older relay boxes/ modules earlier cars used. I threw 4 of their balljoints in an 04 Mini today. I will admit they are usually cheaper than the OE Lemfroder, and not always made in Germany,

Ferdinand Bilstein = FEBI tries to market everything, I have seen some gear oil, marketed for MB recently. Walks like Dorman and quacks like Dorman. The try to capitalise on a German name, that's all.

Its a different story when you have to warranty the labor along with the part. Compere them to OE, the difference is night and day. That cheap part gets expensive real fast.

Atleast the Febi Bilstein G12++ coolant i have n both my cars right now seems to be good

But ok, i'll avoid Febi oil filters.

At least once, I used some Febi-Bilstein CHF for my old Audi. That's the only Febi-Bilstein items I've seen around here. I did get a coolant expansion tank from them online, but that's hard to screw up.

But thats what Im saying, in 8 years of owning a european repair shop, and working out of dealers since 2008, I have never warrantied a Febi part for failure. Its not Dorman or Moog or even TYC, all I have had tons of issues with on these cars.

Febi MAKES the gear /trans oil for MB, they always have since I worked there in 2003. MB slaps their sticker on it. We would get it by the 20 and 60 liter when there were the conductor plate recalls in 2003-2005 on the 722.9 trans, and right on it said Febi-Bilstein GmbH, and their contact info with the MSDS. I have 2 quarts here I can take pics of if people want to see how similar.

That's fine, I don't use their stuff but that's my choice based on my own experience. I seriously doubt Febi produces any lubricant for MB or anyone else, they are a repackage only outfit like Meyle, Uro and others and not a manufacturer of anything AFAIK.
Some of the stuff they repackage may be better than others and that kind of hit or miss is nothing I want to be part of. I tried some of their stuff and found it sub par when compared to OE.

I think Febi might be going through Fuchs/Shell/BASF for their fluids. For filters, only way to find out is to buy a filter and tear it down.

That sounds reasonable. Total Fina does a lot of packaging for companies also. A lot of motorcycle and car parts chain shops use it with the own company label

I would agree. They seemed to be approved lubes, but almost certainly made for them by someone else.

Their coolants they sell are definetly from BASF i'd say.

Bilstein on its own is good in europe. Add the febi in the front and its just mostly junk
