I have been using MC oil filters for several years with no problems doing 10K (miles) OCI.

I'm not so sure. The German Mahle, Mann, Bosch, and so forth for my Audi were all under $5 a piece, and still are in the neighbourhood right now. Nothing North American was anywhere near that cheap. The OEM consumables on the Audi were far better than any of the aftermarket stuff with respect to price. Heck, even with stuff for North American and Japanese cars, I pay more, aside from the Wix 51515 for the F-150.

I bought 4 Mahle cartridge filters for her car from RockAuto for $18 shipped. It doesn't get much better than that.

The OP's car is an Accord. It uses a spin-on filter.

The Euro companies are smart enough to charge less for a cartridge filter than for the cans, since they use less material and are easier/cheaper to manufacture. But the American companies are greedy and want to charge more for less.

Re-read that whole post of mine for a more in-depth explanation.

On a North American or Japanese vehicle, of course, I wouldn't bother with the Mann or Mahle. A Bosch Premium is still a good option, assuming the media can somehow resist tearing.

What I meant, too, was that for a Japanese or North American application, it would be doubtful that there is a German made Mann/Mahle/Bosch/Hengst in the first place. I've already verified that with respect to a few North American and Japanese applications that are marketed in Europe.

Similarly, when I had my Audi, the Purolator application guide at the time told me to check the Bosch application guide. Trying to find a German made filter for a North American or German application will likely result in a wild goose chase at best.

If you can find a Motorcraft filter that fits your car, I'd say get that.

I've run Motorcraft filters on for 7,500 mile OCI/FCI on my daily drivers for years, and my current DD has over 208,000 miles on it. I've cut open many of these 7,500 filters and have yet to find a single one that wasn't in terrific shape.

YMMV
