The best burgers are usually the small chains where you can order it the way you want. I usually get medium rare. Fuddruckers is also pretty good, there aren't that many around though. Five guys is good, it's usually best when it's fresh off the grill so when it's not that busy, they're great. If they're slow and tied up with other orders, it can sit there a while and then it's just mediocre. McDonalds is actually getting better with their 1/4 pound burgers, they're using fresh meat and making it on the spot instead of having them sit in the warmer where they taste like cardboard.
