Every father I’ve ever known, including me, have never looked at Father’s Day as something to celebrate. Not that family get togethers today aren’t appreciated or wanted. It’s just that I think most of us look at Mother’s Day as the more important day for our kids to celebrate. Having said that I wish all the fathers out there a joyous day.

If people show appreciation to mothers and fathers only on the respective holiday it's sad. I have nothing against those holidays or any other holidays, though. Where would we be without traditions? My son called me and I will go to my parents' place this evening. I go there every week, so it's not a rare occurrence.

A bizarre cultural thing is that in some countries fathers will get away from their families and get drunk with their buddies instead of spending the day with their family. They celebrate not having to deal with their wives and kids. Real nice. 🤣

So, yes, Happy Father's Day to all you legitimate fathers only!
