It was really too hot to do much of anything this past Sunday, Father's Day. Miss Linda delivered the by-now traditional "card from the cat," and sprung for coffee and muffins at a little shop near City Park.
The best thing about the day was that I discovered a stretch of road bordering the park has been freshly resurfaced, and we drove up to the lake shore and back again without the nasty jittering that most New Orleans roads hit you with. Now I know where I'll be going for a pleasure drive when the weather cools off, say, in November or December. . . .
