Falling asleep at work

The guy needs a medical checkup. A lot of men past 40 have sleep apnea, but do not know it. A CPAP machine is a very effective tool in managing this condition.

+1 Sure does sound like sleep apnea. There are lots of people, men and women, walking around with sleep deprivation in risky jobs that require your full awareness and faculties. All they need is a sleep study, c-pap machine and medical attention to treat this illness.

Just think of all the people behind the wheel of a car, truck, bus or train that have sleep apnea and are responsible for the lives of others.

Yes, but getting the real information detracts from the reason it was posted, to provoke condemnation and ridicule.

No problem..The Government will just hire double the number of controllers on duty at one time to minimize the problem.

We need President ***** back to fire the whole bunch and the 30% of excess Government workers hired in the last 10 years.

Ronny Raygun broke the ATC union when they struck. If they are so essential, why arent there 2 of them on duty at all times?

So is losing that 50 extra pounds that has crept up on someone, but the CPAP is much easier than dieting. Besides, these days the insurance pays for it!!

Air traffic controllers make over a hundred grand a year. I survive just fine on almost a 3rd of that!

Very true, not only that, if relying on one guy's availability can make or break the safety of so many thousands of people, then the system is not designed adequately in terms of safety. What if the guy has a heart attack? or suddenly unconscious?

I'd imagine they should have enough redundancy to protect against it.

That kind of thinking is why the Federal Government has twice the overpaid over benefited workers it needs to do jobs that are not necessary.

The main purpose of these workers is to go out and spend the money they get paid (borrowed) to stimulate the economy.

Well they were in contact with another facility so that would be your safety factor I guess.
