Fake Amazon reviews and what you can do

I have seen these reviews numerous times. You would have to be pretty stupid to believe them. https://www.dealerrater.com/
Is actually pretty good. It's interesting how the service department at every car dealer gets terrible reviews.

I typed in BMW and the first dealer and first review:

I am a loyal BMW owner and have always purchased from another dealership. I decided to give Autohaus a chance and I couldn’t be happier. My salesperson, Brad Mares, was excellent. Very knowledgeable and willing to go the extra mile. I purchased during the pandemic and did everything online except the actual pickup of my vehicle. Everything was seamless, from returning my leased vehicle to financing to the auto genius. I will definitely recommend and purchase my vehicles from Autohaus.

Glad I don’t use amazon lol. But have come across lots of fake Google reviews one of which got my coworkers terminated because it made up stuff about them and anytime a bad review mentions your name before they verify it you are gone.

The guy that screwed up my truck.. asked me to leave his shop a good review.

I was very polite but, I did not.

That’s right even though I am an adult I still respect their rules because it’s their house. We haven’t been fans of Walmart recently since they started closing at 8:30 then 10 so they aren’t open 24 hours anymore and we are night time people so that kinda hurts us lol but we still shop there.

They close at 10 now? Thought it was still 8:30PM.

They really need to stay open later. But that's all I'm gonna say about that.

Lol 😂 yeah the only way they trust the negative customer reviews is if the customer calls which one did last week as a result it’s me and one other mechanic left don’t know for how much longer though as we were involved as well. They have interviews with 4 people next week hope they work out well. I don’t mind getting the extra work though.

Our salesperson for our 2020 RAV4 asked us to write a review. She said if we didn't giver all 5/5 she'd get in trouble. She was not a very good salesperson put looked like she had some medical issues so we didn't leave a review or complete the survey.

I thought I was the only one that went to Walmart to buy oil at 1am to avoid the crazies.

Ehh.. I used to grocery shop at 3AM or 3:30AM after work. I really, really miss normal life. I must be a non-conformist.

Police on King St made sure I wasn't a drug dealer once. I guess I sure looked like one in my Buick. I guess everybody loves an old Buick.

I would give that police department a one-star review on Google.:poop: I would probably write something like, "Third shifters have to sleep too! I was held for quite some time returning home after work by PD. Plus he didn't say hello when he walked up to car." If we are talking about all sorts of reviews...

What’s wrong with it? I’ve used Amazon since before 2000 and buy quite a bit there, and I’ve never had a bit of trouble. What’s been your experience?

I was a customer of theirs for a while but wound up requesting that my account be deleted, which they did. Can't go into detail here but suffice it to say the company takes positions on certain issues that I'm not in favor of. I also got tired of their constant cajoling, almost rising to the level of trickery at times, to join "Prime" which I was not interested in doing.

Off topic, also on my crap list is Paypal. They're almost worse than dealing with government in terms of sheer bureaucratic morass if you have a problem even slightly out of the ordinary that doesn't fit their automated online procedures. I have not cancelled with them yet but might well do so depending how much more grief they give me.

Glad you no longer need PayPal for EBay. They are pretty useless.

As far as Amazon.. if you order $25 or $35 more at once, you can usually get free shipping anyway? Yeah, it's supposed to come faster with Prime and you can watch movies and all but.. More often than not, I can get what I need without Prime.

You'd be amazed how many reviews are one star for things like "Box was dirty." People are bored.

It got to the point where it seemed like with every transaction you had to be on your guard or you'd wind up inadvertently signing up for Prime. (I know someone that happened to and it was crazy what he had to go through to cancel out of it.) When purchasing, Amazon would make signing up for Prime the default and put the opt-out link in tiny print hidden in a corner. One careless slip and you're paying for Prime. Since I don't deal with Amazon any more I don't know if they're still doing that but expect that they are.

For product search and comparison, and quick summary of Fakespot/ReviewMeta and reviews/ratings, I use https://so.cool/
(yep, the url us correct)
Very helpful tool in the cesspool of Amazon product searching.

I don't see anything like that these days on Amazon.

Happy you brought that up. Family member accidentally signed up for the "trial" that way. Unsure if she ever cancelled it.

Been like that for quite awhile.

I should follow up if she cancelled it or not.

You are correct, had to decline the "offer" with every order..

I honestly don't even bother anymore. The reviews on Amazon is a circus show.

Earlier this month, I got a something from Summit Racing to review the Flex-a-Lite fans I bought back in July. I couldn't even install them, since I'm still waiting on spacers and posted this:

The fan itself is beautifully made, and although I failed to find the country of origin on the packaging, I think it’s safe to assume it is made in the United States. My beef is more so with the adaptors required to mount the fan, which is why I knocked off a star.

In mid-July, I purchased this fan long with its 18” variant (106278) for two of my trucks. Flex-a-Lite requires you to use their own adaptors and spacers for warranty purposes, which I have zero issue with. I contacted their customer support team twice for clarification on what hardware was included with certain spacers, and their response was prompt and detailed.

I then purchased several adaptors and spacers to use with these fans; specifically, part numbers 106786 and 108430, both of which I received, along with 115261 and 112958, which I am still waiting on.

The expected delivery date on these items, through no fault of Summit, keeps getting pushed forward. The expected delivery date on an adaptor I purchased on 07/13 is now 12/10. An adaptor that was supposed to be delivered on 10/20 is now 12/28. Without the mounting adaptor, the fan itself is as good as a suitcase with no handle. Again, Summit is a vendor, and can only ship you a product if it is available from the manufacturer.

While Flex-a-Lite’s customer support has been prompt and fantastic for technical queries, my questions to them on product availability have gone unanswered. I understand the new craze is electric fans with brushless motors, and reckon it is safe to assume these adaptors are not sitting on a shelf somewhere. They’re probably gauging interest, since there aren’t a lot of us old school mechanical fan folks, and once a certain number of orders has been received, the adaptors will probably be manufactured. Heaven only knows when that will be, hence the date keeps getting pushed forward.

This is certainly a disappointment, that such a fine product is unusable because essential hardware remains unavailable.

It got flagged for being "inappropriate", when all I wanted to say was buyer beware; spacers are unavailable and I got two paperweights that are no longer eligible to return. Why waste my time, when I could be doing something way more productive?

I don't leave reviews on Amazon anymore. I used to.

If enough people flag your review, whether they are people paid to promote a product, company, or narrative's interest or not.. something will happen to your "account."

Doesn't matter if you did anything inappropriate or not.

Sort of like a lie detector test. Decline, and get an attorney. Because, even if you are telling the truth, but have, ohh, say, anxiety. When that machine says you lied? Now, you lied.. even if you didn't..

Amazon has become another ebay. The only difference is, on eBay the products listed are generic, whereas on Amazon they come up with a brand name. The other day, I was looking for a pedometer and all junk, pretty similar to that of on ebay.

For health supplements, I stopped buying on amazon because of counterfeit supplements. I only buy from iHerb. There are no 3rd party sellers on iHerb.
