Hey guys, how do you go about figuring out what oils they use for factory fills in new cars? Was wondering because I'm still on my 2010 Mazda3 Factory Fill. If I had to guess, it would be the Motorcraft 5w20 Synthetic Blend but then there's always a chance it's Eneos/Nippon Oil since it was assembled in Japan.

Where the car was made is the determining factor. Since your Mazda was made in Japan, it likely did have Eneos.
My Mazda was made in the US, and even though i know Motorcraft/Mazda oil is made by Conoco Phillips, i have read that Ford/Mazda use a SOPUS product on the assembly line here in the states. That may or may not be/still be true.
Eneos is sold here in the US, but it's hard to find and can be somewhat expensive. I wish i had a good inexpensive supply of it.

I think my mom's Altima has the infamous Genuine Nissan Ester 5w30 since the owner's manual recommends it.
Regardless of what's in there, it isn't getting an oil change until 6mo/7500 miles.

I doubt it. Mazda doesn't do much with Ford anymore. Mazda dealers don't even have a Ford Quick Lane. On my friend's 2010 Mazda 3i, we had the first oil change done at 3,000 miles at the dealer.
Regardless of what's in there, it isn't getting an oil change until 6mo/7500 miles.

ENEOS is the house brand of the Nippon Oil Company.
If you're in the market for their 0W-20 you need look no further than your Toyota/Lexus dealer for the Toyota brand 0W-20 which is made by Nippon Oil in their Alabama plant.
It's the same high VI oil with the boat load of organic moly. If anything the Toyota spec's look better than ENEOS.
Another option is the Honda brand 0W-20 which has a similar formulation but it's made by Idemitsu.

You can call Mazda in Calif. You might get the right answer. I used them alot over the years. They are in Irvine I think.1-800-222-5500 I also found the dealers to be one of the worst and Edmunds soon listed them that way. Good luck.

Both of the local Mazda dealers use Castrol GTX. They also use Castrol Import Multi-Vehicle for transmission flushes, not the OE Mazda product.
