Factory fill washer fluids smell so good

I never thought about the cheap blue stuff being hard on wipers. I just thought all wipers now were junk. No matter the brand they never last very long.
There are still a few decent brand wipers out there. I use SWF/Valeo. Those are very good. Most of the OEM from dealers are good, Toyota, BMW, etc. Here in Seattle, you quickly learn which ones wear out in three or four months, versus ones that can last a year or more.

Michelin, Goodyear and Bosch from club stores and mass merchants are definitely garbage.

I wonder if the scented stuff meets CARB? You read that right - CARB regulates washer fluid too...

Didn't know this was such a thing til my brother in law drove us up to Tahoe form the bay area. He would load up on the good stuff up there since he lived in one of the restricted areas near San Francisco. He wants to relocate but family issues get in the way. When asked where he wants to move, the reply is "ABC"...anywhere but California.

Those last three are usually the ones I end up getting. Thanks for the info.

Things have changed, as there are definitely quality aftermarket wipers today....but I recall when consumer reports tested all the major brands about 18 or so years ago, against oem, and basically said to just get them from the dealer, as they price versus life made the discount store ones a poor value.

Bosch makes wipers at like four or five price points and only the top one or two are any good. PIAA are claimed by my friends to be excellent. I like SWF/Valeo and you can find them inexpensively online, they are also OEM for some BMW models.
