I always loved the F-4. When I was a kid living in Keflavik in the 70s, nothing was cooler than riding my bike up to the airport fence and watching them take off and land. Our nextdoor neighbor was an F4 pilot.

I got a ride in a rf4c in the late 70s at Shaw AFB SC... It was a blast...

You'd Think that parts would start becoming difficult to come by. The newest F-4 Phantoms were built in 1979. Add that fuel consumption is off the charts I thought Turkey would have retired them many years ago. Still interesting to see for sure.

Iran still flies the F-4. It's distinctly old school and I believe they make a lot of their own parts. And they have enough to cannibalize for parts that they can't make.

Define terrorists. The USA taxpayers shouldn't be forced to support any foreign nation despite what er are told.
