Extra glue on filter core

I have a ac delco ultraguard gold upf44 that has a dot of extra glue on the core. What are the odds of the glue breaking off and causing harm? Should i run it?

I wouldn't worry. The glue doesn't come off or break down.

If it's a black glue, it's likely a high-temp cured adhesive. It has to be cured at a temp higher than your engine oil gets, so I wouldn't worry. Stuff is like tar before it's cured, so I s'pose it can get messy from time to time.
