Exterior House Painting Ongoing

Beside prep, knowing the substrate is very much key to proper paint choice,
Not sure if I follow. Are you implying that certain substrates are less prone to deterioration and therefore, you can get away with using a lesser quality paint?

No

And somewhat yes

All latex paints seem to bond very well to cement and fiber siding. So no superior paint needed for that. Yet cedar and other woods can be very particular about paint choice. Because if a paint isn’t bonding well not much else matters .

Concrete siding is inherently resistant to water in the sense you can soak it in water and it won’t be damaged so in a way yes correct.

Super Paint will bond well and last and look fine for 15 years with regular cleaning

But how did the paint job part itself turn out?
Absolute perfection. Like new. No joke, those microfiber rollers are magic. They hold a lot of paint, make a perfect surface finish and get into all the stucco nooks and crannies. Way better looking up close than spraying. And a whole bunch easier than the large rollers. Did I mention it's fast???

Paint .................Life expectancy*
Super ................... 7-10yrs

Emerald.................15+ yrs.

You're good Pab's. Benjamin Moore if you intend to live past 15 years. We are all behind YOU spending more money. :)

That link smells like an AI generated page.

Anyway, ymmv but I haven’t seen any paint job (premium or not) on my street look great after 7 years. Maybe it has to do with the reformulation of paints for lower VOC’s? No idea.

So I’m naturally wary of using entry-level paint when the materials cost of the job is a single digit component of the overall job.
