Mobile 1...Castrol EDGE Extended Performance...Amsoil...etc all say 15,000 miles guaranted protection. How many with or without a used oil analysis run 15,000 miles on your oil?

A friend did 15K+ with Mobil 1 5w30 Extended Performance in his Windstar V6. He put 180K on the van when sold. Never a used oil analysis. Engine ran great.

back when I was college I used to do long (I always thought too long, prob many over 12k n 15k too, wasnt always keeping track) oci on a kia. I was very broke then and didn't really keep up on car maintenance honestly, always Quaker State Conventional or Pennzoil Conventional. but car had 215k+ when suspension rusted away from body beyond repair, never a engine or transmission problem, original transmission fluid, antifreeze I'm sorry its sad to say. I always thought was going to hurt it but the winter weather is what killed it.

I have done this, at least that's what I assumed happened upon waking up!

But seriously, I bought the Amsoil and Filter for the 15k OCI a while back, but got too nervous to run it all the way there. I gave in at 9.5k. The main reason I did is because I noticed my car wasn't running very well after 8k. Never did do a used oil analysis on it.

I have been running Amsoil in my wife's 2009 Focus for 21,000-22,000 the past few years and the two used oil analysis I have run have been fine and there was still TBN remaining, Blackstone said I could go farther each time but I changed it. Also used an Amsoil filter only rated for 15K but had no issues and the filters looked fine upon cutting them open. The engine used no oil either, still on the full mark after that mileage. Also the oil light on the car is always out by the time it starts. I have gotten my $$$ worth using the 0W-20 and 5W-20 Amsoil Signature Series.
