Oakley, Maui Jim, Serengeti are great but my favorite right now are some Hobies I got from Costco for about $60. To me, the lenses may be the best. I like the brown drivers lens.

Had a nice pear of killer loops they got flushed by my niecen5 years later I have bolle's and my son flushed those.....I gave up

So stop putting them in such easily accessible places.

I have bought Bolle at Big 5 as well for about $40-$60 range. I have both that I bought in very nice condition for being about 8 years old.

I find a lot of the Oakley frames look really gaudy.

I lose things too often so I just get the cheap ones. I do have a pair of Italian sunglasses from 1999 that I still have and wear. They're definitely better made than the cheapos.

I buy the cheap(er) ones. I will spend say $25-$30 and get some with better frames that will hold up better than the really cheap ones. Sunglasses are too easily lost or damaged so I am not spending what Oakleys or Rayban(sp? )etc... would cost.

He he. I wore glasses for years before laser surgery and was blind as a bat. I learned how to take care of my eyewear. ;

I only had a problem once with a set of Serengetis. It was the one time I ever left my F-150 unlocked, and some darned fool stole them. They weren't even in an obvious place. It didn't stop me from buying another pair, since I don't leave vehicle doors unlocked, aside from that one slip up.

Some optical shops up here have the unconditional one year guarantee (like their prescription eyewear) for the sunglasses. Of course, you pay a bit more from them, but if one is klutzy, it may be worth it.

As someone else mentioned earlier, when you wear glasses long enough, you learn to take car of eyewear.

I have moderate sensitivity to bright light. Anytime I am outside, especially in winter when the sun is low or there is snow on the ground, I have sunglasses on. Being something I wear so often, I choose sunglasses that are high quality, fit well, and look good. That usually equals expensive. Then again, I have owned my current pair of Oakleys for over three years, so the $160 investment hasn't been lost.

Oakley sunglasses are also made in the USA. Nothing wrong with that.

I prefer to see things as they are mostly....unless it's while driving into the sun with all that serious glare. I even hiked in Arizona and prefer not wearing them.

Even in rainy Western Washington,I wear sunglasses virtually every day of the year. There is a ton of glare coming off wet roadways.

I cannot function without quality sunglasses. I work and live in the desert and have great eyesight. I don't have a problem spending $$$ to protect my eyes. I prefer MJ's but will wear oakleys to work in if I have to.

I used to buy cheap ones for $15 and then I was given a free pair of Oakleys for free from someone who didn't want them. I have to say they are way more durable, comfortable and better lenses. Are they worth $150?...maybe worth more like $50-60. But I got them for free so I can't complain about price.

Yes....but only when the sun comes out AFTER a rain. Typically I think it stays dull and grey most of the time when it's a rainy day.

1 pair prescription polarized @ 150 for driving
1 pair prescription non-polar @ 100 for general use (golfing)
a bunch of non-prescription polarized and non-polar ea. @ < $25....diff. sizes, colors for different uses (e.g. bicycling, golfing where non-polar is better)

For $20 you can get bifocal sunglasses with polycarb polarized lenses in most Walmarts' fishing/sporting good depts. I've got a pair that are about 3 years old.
