Exhaust soot on GDI engines.

I have a 2025 Honda Ridgeline that uses direct injection. Less than 1K miles thus far. I ran my index finger along the inside of one of the exhaust tips and found that it was coated (lightly) with soot. Apparently this is common with GDI engines, but how much soot is enough to be concerned (presuming I clean the exhaust tips every oil change)?

It's normal and not something to measure and worry about. I wouldn't bother cleaning the inside of the exhaust tips myself. If you want to clean the outside of exhaust tips this product works good.

Perfectly normal and why GPFs are coming to the US.
