Are they reusable? When I dropped the exhaust on my Camry to do the oil pan, I just reused it. I've had some sort of engine smell for about the two years I've had the car, and I'm still tracking down what it could be, and this seems like a cheapo thing to try ($6 at Autozone) but I'm wondering if I should have replaced it when I did the oil pan gasket. [The downpipe was slightly in the way, so it had to be unbolted from the manifold.]

This is my experience as well.

If you are referring to the one between the exhaust manifold and the catalytic converter assembly, they leak all the time.

I would replace. If the spring bolts feel weak, replace those too.

Spring bolts? It's just bolted together.

This a non-CARB car, so the cat is way out back No cat next to the exhaust manifold, not unless if it was integrated in and I missed it (certainly isn't on the downpipe next to the cat, but is way out back).

But no spring bolts.

You're right. I just checked the diagram and it appears to only use nuts/bolts.

I was thinking about the 1.8L (1zz and 2zr) - those using coil springs which are wrapped around the bolts.
