Well version 3 is done based on feedback. Im trying to add drop downs so you can just choose an oil and it will automatically enter the data sheet parameters. Its becoming more of a challenge than it may be worth. I may just add a table of data sheet parameters. I have a programmer and said he can show me how to do the drop downs with visual basic.

Well, it was forwarded to the moderators of this site and was told they would most likely host it, but i asked them to wait a month so i could obtain some feedback. Im on version 3 now and believe im pretty much done. I think im just gonna make a table with many of the popular PCMOs and HDEOs showing data sheet values and in time would like to get a bunch of VOAs as well. Ill be happy to send it too you if you would like to try it out and send me your feedback or ideas too make it better. My email is [email protected]. If you would like a copy, send me an email and ill forward it too you. I wish that filepanda was still working so i could put a link.

You must be clicking on a cell that does not allow you to modify it. Only cells highlighted in peach color allow you to modify it. Unless something got mixed up in the upload or something.

I am clicking on peach colored cells and it says they are protected.

Yes works fine , I will play with it and let you Know...Thanks...Pete

The protect thing was on the original too. Took me a bit to find how to disable it. The newest version didn't seem to need tweaking for entering variables. Must be how I saved the original. I'm using OpenOffice 2.something or other.

Yes, the VI calculator appears to have a glitch.

100C 4.9
40C 23.9 should be 132 - it's over 2000.

well i thought it was, but it definitely don't jive with other viscosity calculator at those numbers. They correlated with two data sheet numbers that i put in there but it looks like there is something wrong. Ill look into it and keep you posted. Thanks for finding the error. thats why i wanted people looking at it.

No ..this is good. In field testing of a beta version. I doubt anything just magically comes out of the package ready to wear.

You might seek some hints from an upper strata dweller like XS650. He might decipher the glitch for you.

If I was Roy Baty, I might first seek out John Sebastian ..but Tyrel is the real genius.

I agree a bug in the VI calc.

What is the basis for the calculation? Reference? Documentation? I would not trust arbitrary math making a smooth curve necessarily without supporting data.

When I downloaded it, I cannot seem to see the math page to get a feel for it... Not sure why I cannot find that page...
