I'm always a bit surprised how much more traffic (often 220+ viewers) the main oil forum gets than sub-forums like "Automotive" and "Maintenance" (they get decent traffic too but only a fraction.) It would seem that the range of topics that can be covered in those forums would be infinitely greater, thus generating more traffic.

Haven't folks fleshed it all out over the years already?
A near consensus of sorts has been reached regarding engine oil:
1. almost all oil is good. I can't think of a time when a user advises another user to NOT use a particular oil.
2. Conventional oil is as good as synthetic is ALMOST all applications.
It seems that the gap between the best oil and only average (is there a "worst" oil? not really. again #1, almost all oil is good oil.)
