Just to share with our American friends. While at my local Canadian tire, I was looking at the 0W20 offerings in the oil aisle. Syntec with Titanium can be had for $56.99 for 4.4 litres while Mobil 1 Advanced Fuel Economy 0W20 is only 49.99 for 5 litres. Pennzoil Platinum 0w20 is only available in litre bottles at $10.99 each. Think I will stick with TGMO at $ 5.70 per litre at the dealer

When my parents used to live in Virginia, I used to stock up every time I visited. Used to save a ton of $$$, even when the Canadian dollar was $0.65 American with the exchange. Now that they're back in the Great White North, I don't cross the border very often.

Yes TGMO 0W-20 is our best 0W-20 value in Canada.
Not only is it cheaper but it's superior to both Mobil 1 0W-20 and Pennzoil Platinum 0w20 not to mention all other OTC 0W-20s for any vehicle that's spec'd for the 0W-20 grade.

I'm using TGMO 0W20 in both of my Toyotas. The price can't be beat and the high VI of TGMO is far superior to that of PP, M1 or Edge. It never gets cold enough in the GTA where I'll need the lowest MRV oil. I need the lightest for temps between -10 to +35 Celsius and that is TGMO

Why do you guys get hosed so badly on motor oil?
It can't be taxes, since if it were, TGMO would also be ridiculously expensive instead of being comparably priced to what it is on the other side of your southern border.
I'd bet that if the US had motor oil prices similar to those in Canada we'd see a lot more interest in extended drains as well as repairs of oil leaks.

You get hosed badly if you need a 0W20 or a Dexos spec oil. Walmart regularly has Dino Pennzoil conventional, Valvoline conventional, Quaker State conventional, Castrol GTX or Mobil Super 1000 for under $20 for 5W20, 5W30 or 10W30. Super Tech ( Now called Tune It up here) can be had regularly for under $15

Don't be on it, the 5000km OCI is still very popular up here.
