Evacuated last night to bama

Live in brunswick ga, which was/is supposed to be dead center of matthew. I live not even 5 mins from the ocean so we weren't taking any chances.

Now were in greenville alabama. We left in a hurry at 5pm last night made it here before midnight. After a google it seems theres nothing to do here. Gonna go to cracker barrel to eat then might go to montgomery which is about an hour away.

Anyone have any points of interest or thing's to do there? Were here until tomorrow but in no hurry to leave. Im off work until wednesday

OK, I have a question. How did you pick Greenville, AL... as to where you were going to evacuate to? Motel room availability? Family / friends in the area?

'nice hotel' availability played a huge part. I also have family about 90 mins from here who we might meet up with for dinner or something. But it came down to availability and not wanting to go to atlanta like the other 75k(guessing) people. The traffic to atlanta was backed up for hours where my route was painless and easy

The storm slowed down over night so it hasnt gotten so bad yet (so im told in my neighborhood) but now their saying between 2-7 pm will be the worst. It just got pushed back a few hours

Head to Montgomery. Much more there to see and do, but Google first to see what suits your fancy. Smart move going where you did. I spent 11 years due to work in a little place called Alex City. They rolled up the sidewalks at dark. It was either Montgomery or Birmingham to do anything.

Have relatives in Melbourne, not so bad. Still waiting to hear about our condo in Satellite beach.
