Are you finding the 5w30 ESP at a local retailer ?

Amazon or NAPA. NAPA has sometimes on sale for $5.99 per liter.

But, ESP is so called "diesel" oil, a Low-SAPS oil, and not sure it would be best match for Ecoboost.
I think you are already running in it the best Euro oil if you ask me.

Yeah probably so but I went and looked up the PDS on the 5w30 after you posted the HTHS. It sure looks like a great oil. Looks better than standard M1 5w30 and even (surprisingly) M1 EP.

Of course it is ACEA C3 oil. It meets much more stringent requirements then ILSAC GF-5 oils.
Add to that NOACK of 5.6%.
You can try it in Ecoboost, however fuel dilution might be a problem. I tried it in VW CC and TBN after 3K was down to 1.9. It is Low-SAPS oil and just does not do good with the U.S. gasoline.
However, you are already using great oil in Ecoboost.

Thx for info

You welcome.
Castrol 0W30 has HTHS above 3.5cp, NOACK 8.3%, 12.2 cst, pour point -60. For long it was most cherished oil among Euro owners. But, Castrol 0W40 in Wal Mart is now $25 for 5qt and it is same base stock as 0W30 so people just go for that.
Your Ecoboost is specd. for lighter oil (ILSAC GF-5) so 0W40 might be an overkill, but who knows. I would give it a try.

As others have mentioned..and from Mobil 1 ESP web page... "API (Meets Engine Test Requirements) SM / SN". I called Mobil a few years ago about this. Mobil tech stated the oil easily passes the engine wear tests with fresh oil but with the higher sulphur content of US gasoline (maybe CA and a few other states have lower) the oil will not last as long as one would expect

I've got 6qts left of the 0w-30 Edge and a 5qt jug of 0w-40 M1 I was saving for warmer weather. I'll probably give the AFE a try sometime after May next year.
