Essex Engine Plant

Did any of the Canadian members here ever work at this plant? I see Ford closed it in 2006, then re-opened it in 2010. Is it still open? My 07 4.2 V6 was built there.

my Nephew's 99 F150 has one of their V6's(4.2)... as did the Windstar his Mom (My Sister) Drove when he was a Toddler (3.8)....

@honeeagle: Thank you for your efforts! My 2003 Ford 4.2 V'6 runs like a Swiss watch. It has been well taken care of of course but what a gem. Truck only has 116,000 miles on the odometer. Love it.

I have to agree with you about the Essex 4.2 V6 and it running like a Swiss watch. Mine runs as smooth as silk.

Hmmmm, you probably built my 4.2 V6.
Do you remember the 1997-1998 4.2 V6 engines having the faulty timing cover and lower intake gaskets?

Ironically, our 06 Freestar with the the 4.2 was much more reliable than the 08 Ranger with the 3.0, which in theory was a base model and should have minimal things to go wrong. Both owned since new.

nope but I remember the first time we saw the 4 thread spark plug heads.
The time we got back from shutdown and saw the new cyclinder head machines,- look no more head gaskets! ( or at least minimal) and cheap.
we know how that worked out.
