This is about my HP desktop, running Windows 7 Home Premium and ESET NOD 32. Also have Hitman Pro.Alert installed. I don't use this computer a lot, mostly use my laptop now but today I started getting a message from ESET saying it is blocking the Superfish.com website. The ESET message window pops up every time I change web pages or go to my home page which is Yahoo. I tried an ESET scan first, no joy. I copied a clean version of MWB from my laptop onto a flash drive, disconnected my router and modem, booted the computer into safe mode and ran MWB from the USB, still no joy. I ran SAS, still get the error message. Then I ran the Lenovo Superfish removal tool, still seeing the error message.

I restored the computer back to April 4th, still seeing the error window from ESET every time I switch to a different site or web page. I am at a loss. I have been running ESET for over a year now and never had this problem before. The Superfish Remover Tool says I do not have Superfish on my machine, and there is no Superfish or Window Shopping program in my programs list, but ESET should not be alerting me unless there is something wrong. I appreciate any help on this.

I believe there are specific removal instructions beyond just running the tool

I figured it out. Everything I checked and all the scans I ran today indicated I did not have the Superfish program on my computer. I first started having the problem with the ESET warning after I had tried to download a Youtube concert video earlier today. I had to reset my Google password and went to download the video and received a prompt asking if I wanted to enable the Flash Video Downloader. It was from Firefox so I clicked OK and that was when the problem started. A few minutes ago I removed that Flash Downloader add-on and have not seen the ESET warning since. One of the Superfish solutions I read about today involved removal and re-installation of all add-ons and plugins but I really did not want to go that route unless I absolutely had to. Thanks for your help.
