OK I have a plymouth voyager 3.0L FI with 132000 on it based on the info in posts here I changed my oil to Mobil Clean 5000 since I know my engine needs a clean up. I plan to switch to mobile One at some point. I would like to use AMSOIL but I do have a small ocaisional leak at one of the cam oil seals that needs to be fixed first before I use AMSOIL. I also installed a Napa Gold FIL1085 This was done 2200 miles ago and I change at every 3000 miles.

Everything was A-OK until this AM after it sat all night in the garage there was some severe engine noise at start up (not just lifters).. this did go away after apx 2 mins when the engine oil began to circulate.

It dove OK into work but, I am wondering what was the cause? Bad ADV?? or is the filter plugged due to the cleaning effects of the Mobile clean??? :confused

This is the first Napa filter that I have used. I used to use the dreaded frams before

I have/had a 3.0 with the lingering tick that you describe. It's hard to nail down because it's not normal "lifter tick" and it's not because of an empty filter. Mine was initially quiet ..then acted like the engine was running low on oil (on and off) until the oil got warmed up a little. Normally you get a startup tick that goes away ..or a startup tick that goes way when the oil thins ..but not one that starts quiet and then gets noisy.

Do a double does treatment of Auto-Rx and this condition will go away.

I think it has to do with some of the HLAs bleeding off quicker then others due to slightly clogged passages. Auto-Rx will clean everything out over the course of the prescribed treatment.
