Cleaned my engine compartment today. Covered electrical connection and alternator. Now the engine has a fairly loud knock. What would cause this?

I've seen misfiring until all gets dried out well, maybe water in a connector or something.

Seems go get worse once the engine warms up.

That`s really crazy! I`ve cleaned the engines/bays on every car I`ve owned since the mid-80s and have never had that happen. And I clean VERY thoroughly! Wish even more now that I could hear your engine.

Just for kicks and peace of mind,you could always change the oil *just in case* any water got in during the cleaning. Was the oil fill cap on tight and dipstick in place during the cleaning?
Changed oil right after the cleaning was done. Mobil 1 0W30 and a FU filter. Just shot a short video, uploading to photo bucket now.
I'd love to hear it too.
