Pandus13,

Sorry to hear of your dad's passing. Be prepared for sudden feelings of sadness occasionally over the next year or so. You may be driving and suddenly have a memory of your dad and get misty-eyed. It happened to me several times and I was told in advance that it would. The father-son bond is mysterious to say the least.

Sorry Pandus, I know exactly how you feel and it's not pleasant.

Lost my dad a few years back. He and I were best friends and weathered some seriously hard times together. He even moved to FL to be near me. He always loved to have fun, and it became a priority towards the end.

Some of the best memories I have of him were towards the end. I'd push him around the hospital in the wheelchair, and we would find some form of minor trouble. For example, we'd break into the nurses station and raid the fridge, looking for milk and cookies. The hospital was too cheap to provide them. So, we'd get them ourselves. Dad would laugh like crazy as I opened the lock, and we hid from nurses. Silly, yes. Great memories, you bet. Or, I'd wheel him out and put him in my car and drive to a chinese take out place. Bring him back an hour later... Not exactly kosher, but not too bad.

Please post a nice story about your dad.
