email notification for *any* thread

I know, I know you have head this before ad nauseum: "I spend way to much time at BITOG".

But I could make my surfing at BITOG so much more productive if it was possible to have email notification for *any* thread....not just the ones I might actually post to. In fact you can imagine that 'readership' of BITOG would increase substantially if this basic feature of forum software was implemented as so many more people never post as compared to those that do. And now that I think a little more carefully such notification might lead to more 'de'lurking as people would be able to easily keep abreast of those threads they find most useful/interesting which might lead to more posts.

I guess donations might help with forum software upgrading?

We have the most current upgrad that we can get for this software. In fact we upgraded to it just recently. On the main page of the forums click on active topics, that is the only way I know how to get the new posts. I use that almost 100% and no problem.

One of our Admins is looking at a total new type format. Not sure if that will contain what you are looking for or not.

I am not sure it is working right. I checked off notification on one thread and then was getting so many notifications that I wanted to shut it off. Went into my profile under "Edit Topic Notifiation" but it wasn't there. Only an old thread I didn't realize I had requested notification for. Anyway, to shut the notification off I had to post to the thread "Please Delete, Sorry" and unclick the notification. I don't know if it worked, because nobody has posted to it since.
