From back in the day when many engines had NO OIL FILTER AT ALL! So, of course even a cellulose filter was an improvement! Wonder if this was the first synthetic blend filter ever made?
Yeah .. .. .. the first of the “full-flow filter era” we all take for granted!!!
Not the first exactly. My '63 Chevy II I6 and my '65 Comet 289 V8 both had full flow filters.
Probably better than that. Almost sounds like an early synthetic blended filter media designed to filter very well and also "flow" well (meaning a low dP vs flow curve).
You’re right - even early “canister filters” (with the long bolt) were indeed “full flow”

I'd be curious to see/know how it would test out under today's ISO 4548-12 efficiency standard vs the at the time promotional material. Definitely into Mr, Peabody's wayback machine though.
