Electric water heater brand preference

I’d go for the cheapest name brand model that fits their needs.

Menards has their Richmond brand, which is just a rebadged Rheem as well.

The reviews on both Lowes and Home Depot sites suggest that the brands of normal (with a tank) water heaters are of questionable quality.
