I don't think so from what I've read. People are pretty mad about Tesla not abiding by the "right to repair" by the owners.

This is where Ford and other mainstream brands may be more attractive to owners. If someone with a Ford EV for instance can go buy parts for it and repair it themselves, then I'd think that would be an attractive ownership factor if someone is considering an EV.

Absolutely, DIY is important. Hyundai and Kia owners of 2020+ models are faced with an expensive non-conductive coolant change at 40k miles/60k km. Just the 13 L of coolant required is reported to cost around $700.
Luckily mine is old enough to use a conventional coolant for which the only downside is a higher risk of fire issues developing sometime after an accident if coolant floods the battery housing.

Teslas still use ATF for the gearbox, G-40 coolant for their electronics(same ish as BMW and Mercedes) and brake fluid. Dex-VI and Dex-Cool is still a fact of life on the Bolt, as a matter of fact, GM only wants pre-mixed Dex-Cool to be used, mixed with deionized water(I’m sure Prestone Cor-Guard can be used too).

Toyota on the Mirai wants an exotic coolant that must be mixed with DI water at the point of service. I forget the P/N but it’s $200-300 for the kit. That coolant is for the fuel cell stack. The inverter/hybrid drive takes pink SLLC and ATF WS.

I don’t blame Tesla for only wanting their people to touch their cars - too many hacks and sub-par parts out there. But Right to Repair should be a thing regardless.
