Hello,

I have a honda-powered gas pressure washer. Its a real nice unit, with a Cat oil-lubed pump and all.

It is unwieldy, and you only get it out for the big jobs...

Im interested in potentially getting a small, electric pressure washer. Ive seen Karcher, Husky, Campbell Hausfield (sp?), etc.

Most all washers are China-made, and seem to be lacking in quality and then replacement parts should something fail. Its just another luck of the draw thing... Ive also seen Kranzle, which seems to be a heavier-duty item, but they start to run $700+, which is tough to justify.

Any suggestions, hints or guidelines? An preferred brands?

Thanks.

Mate at work bought an $800 (Oz) washer 15 months ago. He wanted to avoid the plastic pistons etc of the cheapies.

A month ago, he started looking for his replacement washer.

Like a lot of things, if it's only light, intermittent use, I'm starting to think cheap and disposable.

(As an aside, a mate goes to a lot of mini auctions, and picks up handfulls or GMC returns. Each has a unique problem, so he usually gets to assemble a good one, and have nearly a full one worth of spares).

Have had excellent results with Karcher. I and two other friends used them regularly (they still do, I sold my boat) to wash our 70ft+ houseboats at least 1 per month. Only problem was when my dumb arse let mine freeze and burst a plastic fitting which was available from their parts distributor.

Go Karcher.

Bob
