Need a pressure washer to prep house for painting, and general around the house usage.

Consumers Reports rates the Harbor Freight Bauer top, but the warranty is short.

I'm thinking about a Westinghouse WPX3000e. It gets good reviews on both Amazon and Home Depot.

Open to suggestions. Looking for new, not used.

That one is surprisingly strong at 2600psi and 1.1GPM If you believe their stats.

It looks good for an electric, if somewhat pricy.

Most are rated MAX GPM and MAX PSI but you dont know what the gpm is at max psi or the psi at max gpm..
so worthless stats. This one has those stats "worthless stats" but also an actual rating [email protected]

Unless the house is tiny though I'd want a gas model. hard to beat 2.5+gpm @1500psi (40degree tip is usually 1400-1500psi) for doing siding.. water flow= speed.

Sams had gas powered ones for $200 on clearance last time I was there.

I live in California, where sale of new gas powered yard equipment has been outlawed.

This Westinghouse gas powered unit seems to get good reviews. It's cheaper than many other electric units also. And speaking of electric, the better units draw about 15A, which is a fair bit from a 120V line, and I don't have good power access around the house, which means long extension cords. If I can get this gas unit in CA, thinking I should just do it.

I have a cheap electric Simonez rebrand. It’s noisy but probably less noisy then a gas powered unit. It sprays plenty strong. I imagine it might not give the same results as a gas powered unit when reaching up to the second floor of a building but for general cleaning or washing a car it’s plenty strong.

Can you ship to store in CA? If not, road trip time.
Trial run through the purchase process, with my CA address showing, and it's not stopping me. If these gas powered units in stock were manufactured in 2023, then no problem. Or, Home Deopt doesn't have their system buttoned down.

Before I throw the switch, Westinghouse has too many options. 2700, 3000, 3200, 3400, all within $55 of each other. 2700 is more than powerful enough, but I'd gladly pay more for a "better" unit. I'm thinking that the 2700 will be lower stress on the pump? That said, maybe the larger unit has a bigger/better pump? Can they be throttled down to reduce internal stress?

Ordered the 2700. Let's see if it ships. Reviews on this machine look good. Maybe even underrated, regarding pressure and flow. Again, I don't need all that much. This is mostly going to be used for cleaning my house before paint, and I'm a little afraid to have too much pressure and flow.

Small update...

I provided bad information regarding California's ban of gas powered yard equipment. Tools like lawn mowers, edges, weed whackers, and similar, built starting 2024, cannot be sold in California. Generators and pressure washers were given four additional years, so the ban starts 2028. I thought pressure washers were like lawn mowers, but that was a mistake on my part.

Be mindful to also look at the GPM as PSI alone won't get the job done as efficiently as having good GPM.

I have the Active 2.0 and it does well for a pressure washer on a 15A circuit. I believe they have a newer model also but is more noisy.
