Yep, another chubby stick man. I was sure someone like XS650 would give us the full Monty on rotational harmonics and dynamic balance ..all the fascinating details.
..btw- orient me here with the image. What's the cheese whiz behind the fan? ..oh..wait a minute. Tire/wheel combo after snowfall used as table for image taking?
On other topics:
The fan performs flawlessly. The only confict/overlap is when you're using the AC in slow traffic or at idle. Whenever the compressor engages for more than 15 seconds, the fan goes to full speed and stays on for 30 seconds after the clutch kicks out. This 30 seconds of extended run time tends to lower the coolant temp below the low set point. I don't know if there can be a state at low speed or standing still, where the lower speed fan will allow the compressor to cycle at lower than 15 second intervals. In short, while using the AC at low speeds, it reacts more like a relayed full speed fan with ON:OFf with a delay ON and with a long delayed OFF
