EcoGard s241 after 935miles of HPL

Off my 3mz Highlander, currently on its first full run of HPL 5w30 pcmo. Previously ran ec30 and found essentially no carbon https://bobistheoilguy.com/forums/threads/champ-xl-ph2835xl-cnp.386207/#post-6981049

So I think this motor is pretty clean. I did valve cover gaskets about 4 years ago shortly after buying it and it was pretty decent looking inside. There was some tiny flakes of carbon but not much. Pretty evenly spread out. Should have no problems doing a long run on the new filter.

Regardless, this filter looks like a million bucks to me. Disturbingly straight pleats. Quality construction! Was replaced with another s241 unit that will stay on until I hit 180k (was put on at 173,956mi)

Would have left it on longer, yeah. Your motor is running clean but you might pick up some stuff on the same filter if left on longer, which I have noticed running both the Engine Cleaner and HPL oil. Good to see the magnets are working.

It is a good problem to have. Those are my favorite filters.

Waste of a good filter

I do not consider it a waste as I wanted to be sure I did not prematurely load the filter with unknown carbon. Now I know I can go much longer.

none. I purposely slightly overfilled the sump initially knowing I was going to do this early filter check.

Sump only has HPL pcmo 5w30. EC30 was in the OCI previous
