I'll ask you again why you don't like the high torque model? I was considering getting one, but I'm waiting for your reply.
I can't speak for the commenter, but I've read enough posts to know that for some people, the T model doesn't spin fast enough. To get the cut they like, more throttle is needed, which means more noise. The T model head spins 20% slower, so to get equal cutting performance compared to the regular model, more engine speed is needed.
Where the T comes into its own, is in more rural environments. Cutting down deep weeds, bramble, heavy stuff. For normal homeowner usage, the regular model is likely better. That said, as a regular homeowner, using a T model unit, I haven't experienced any issues per se. I may order up a regular model gearbox, just to try. They are not overly expensive. On the other hand, my machine cuts really nicely as is, and many people say that using high rpm is good for the unit. Keeps the muffler clear of carbon and cools better. Maybe the lower gearing is better? Ha ha. Who knows?
