My Echo bent shaft string trimmer says to periodically grease the flexible shaft with Echo Red Armour lithium grease. I have a bunch of different greases in my garage but not this one. Can I use something like Mobil 1 grease or a white lith grease. I have all kinds of EP bearing greases. Some are Moly some are Lithium. Is it that critical?

Yeah pretty sure. I think I just threw some random black grease in there and it's been fine lol.

I should check mine again, but can't imagine why some lithium grease wouldn't work.

Neither do I but just wanted to ask as a sanity check. I am still curious, why lithium?

Probably mostly because that's what they sell as their own brand. Lithium is a good general purpose grease thickener and so is very common and available.
I'm not seeing any performance data or certifications for the Echo Red Armor grease. My guess would that most good grease options would work for your application. A Moly Lithium grease might be good if you think the Teflon that Echo says is in Red Armor is necessary.
