Hey guys...been trying to get this weedeater going for couple weeks now...it started couple weeks ago after cleaning spark plug and leaving plug out and pulling just to get the gas out...my Grandpa flooded it ...well next day nothing...I took it home got new carb and replaced all the fuel Lines filter and air filter new plug..figured it would fire right up cause he never cleaned the carb and filters were bad ...I've checked to make sure it has spark it does .. its a weak spark but definitely spark...I've made sure the spark arrest screen was cleaned and all that....am I missing something? Any advice would be greatly appreciated cause I'm at a loss here...
Thanks michael

Put a brand new genuine locally sourced ngk plug in it. Try again no choke, full throttle, switch in on position. Pull 15 times. If it's flooded it will start by then.

After 15 pulls, then try normal starting procedure. It won't be flooded by then.

I agree with Forddiesel69 no choke, full throttle. Will is start with starting fluid spray? Many weedeaters have a the crank keyway in the aluminum flywheel it can have issues here and throw off timming.

Mine always cold starts if I follow the factory procedure. Push the primer bulb until you see fuel and then 4 more times, put on full choke and pull trigger, pull starter rope till you feel the spring load and then finish with quick pull, repeat until you hear a cough or 5 times, take choke off pull trigger fully and pull rope 5 more times. If it has not started repeat from beginning except skip the primer bulb. I have never had to repeat, it always starts on about 3 or 4 pulls. It is very important that you are using fresh fuel 89 or higher and not canned fuel. If not dump whats in it and get some fresh and mix a new batch. Echos do not like damp or old gas.

Fuel filter. My Stihl FS-38 a couple of summers back one day would run on low but stall out on full throttle. The fuel filter didn't look dirty but a new filter and back to work. My neighbor years ago gave me this really neat sears aluminum cup looking device with a cleanable fine cloth screen. I use this to filter all of my gas for my mower and trimmers.

+2 on the new NGK plug and pulling it with the throttle held open to un-flood it.

If it has weak spark the ignition coil might be failing.

I put brand new nkg plug in today just to be certain cause the carb rebuild kit came with a champion ..so I wanted to make sure ..

I'll try to switch gas in it...I do know he puts premix canned gas in it which I'm not a fan of at all..

I did also try shooting some carb cleaner/starting fluid in air intake to see if it would fire up didn't make a difference....

It is possible the canned gas is no longer combustible. Happens all the time with tru fuel. Echo, husky, and VP racing are the only overprices canned fuel id ever use. The other brands are great for weed killer or for starting outdoor camp fires.

This coupled with the weak spark sounds like an ignition coil issue to me. It should fire on starting fluid even if the carb is bad.

How old is this machine? I know a lot of newer Echos have a lifetime warranty on the ignition coil.

As an update, did you get this resolved? If not we need to go further. Dont just abandon the equipment. This is overall one of the best homeowner trimmers, and even when used commerically for the people that find it ergonomic, can last a very long time.
